Greek Yogurt Protein Cake

You gotta love these Greek yogurt protein cakes. They are soft, juicy and filled with the natural flavour of the yogurt. These cakes are not just super tasty, they look so picture perfect. Give it a go for your next protein rich snack.

This recipe is similar to yogurt and oat protein bars that I made awhile back but also has some notable differences. This recipe gives more fruity taste, thanks to the banana. These cakes are also easier to slice because of we’re using oat flour instead whole oats.

Protein value and the total calories

There is no added sugar or any syrup in this recipe making these cakes very healthy. The protein profile is also very diverse because of the use of egg, yogurt, milk, and oat flour. They all are protein rich ingredients.

I have added a small amount of protein powder in this recipe to bump up the protein content but that is totally optional. One serve of these yogurt protein cakes gives you about 13g of protein and 240 calories

Ingredient notes

Oat flour

Oat flour has higher protein content than the regular wheat flour. It also makes gives better texture to the cakes.

I usually grind my own oat flour using the rolled oats using a grinder. I just like it that way. You can also get the oat flour from the supermarket if you don’t have a grinder or don’t want to go through the process.

Banana

It’s a must have ingredient in this recipe. Banana is used to get the natural sweetness in these protein cakes. Overripe banana is considered best as they are sweeter and softer in texture.

Greek yogurt

I prefer using full cream Greek yogurt to make these cakes. Using fat free yogurt will result the cakes to be dry and also more sour in taste.

Oat milk

I have used oat milk to boost up that oaty flavour. It makes the cakes taste better.

If you don’t have oat milk, you can obviously use the regular milk as well. The difference won’t be very noticeable.
