Don’t underestimate the power of a simple looking snack, because this easy to make and simple looking apple and oats bake tastes just as amazing and fills you up.
I have been creating a lot of oat bar recipes lately, like this yogurt and oat protein bars, but what makes this particular recipe different is its natural fruity and sweet flavour.
Protein and calories
There are no added sugar or any artificial sweetener in this recipe. The natural sweetness comes from the apple and raisins which makes it a very healthy bake.
This oats bake has about 8g of protein and 168 calories per serve. I usually end up eating more than one serve 😜
Ingredients
Rolled oats and eggs
Oats and eggs are the primary ingredients of this recipe. Oats are rich in protein and eggs help to bring that up even higher making it a healthy and protein rich snack.
Oat milk
Oat milk adds the smooth texture and creamy flavour to the bake. If you don’t have oat milk, feel free to use regular milk instead.
Apple and raisins
The combination of that sourness from the apple and the sweetness from the raisins make this apple and oats bake taste so flavourful.
Protein powder
This is completely optional but it’s a good way to make the protein content even higher. Use casein protein powder if you are up for it.
Cinnamon powder and vanilla extract
These are the flavour boosters. If you don’t have vanilla extract, just use the cinnamon powder alone. I would say, cinnamon powder is a most in this recipe. It adds a warm spice touch to this apple and oats bake.
