If you are looking to make something different that is protein rich and vegan friendly, try making these lentil patties. They are also known as lentil bites or lentil nuggets. These cute looking cookie-shaped snacks taste amazing and it’s fun to make them.
For this recipe, I used store-bought lentil cans to save time, but you can prepare your own. Simply soak the whole lentil for 4 to 6 hours and then boil it for 15 minutes.
It’s a protein rich healthy whole meal snack you can enjoy and get those benefits of plant-based protein.
Serving and Storage
Serve them with your favorite dipping sauce. They taste great with ketchup.
You can put any leftovers in a closed container and keep them in the fridge. You can enjoy them for a week.

Protein Rich Lentil Patties
Ingredients
- 400 g whole lentil
- 50 g chickpea flour
- 20 g sesame seeds powder
- 15 g cashew powder
- 1 piece onion
- 3 clove garlic
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp cumin and coriander powder
- ½ tsp chilli flakes
- ½ tsp paper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ piece leamon
- 1 bunch coriander
Instructions
- Soak lentil for 4 to 6 hours and then boil for 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can use canned lentil too. Drain the water from lentil beans.400 g whole lentil

- In a food processor, add lentil, onion, garlic, and coriander.400 g whole lentil, 1 piece onion, 3 clove garlic, 1 bunch coriander
- Mix them well.
- Take a big bowl and add lentil from food processor. Then add all the dry ingredients.50 g chickpea flour, 20 g sesame seeds powder, 15 g cashew powder, 1 tsp baking powder, 2 tsp cumin and coriander powder, ½ tsp chilli flakes, ½ tsp paper, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp paprika
- Squash the lemon and mix all ingredients with hand.½ piece leamon
- Preheat the oven on 180℃ / 355℉ for about 10 minutes.I am using a airfryer tray. First grease the baking tray with butter, oil, or a non-stick cooking spray. Take a small size lentil mix and make the lentil patties. When finished spray the oil on top.
- Bake the patties for 20 to 25 minutes. Remember to turn them in half time.
- Take them out once they turn golden brown.
- When you make the patties, you can dip them in some breadcrumbs before putting them on the tray to get extra crispness, as in this image. It tastes amazing as well.
