These crispy chicken patties are a great way to have something different for a snack or even for a meal. They look similar to chicken nuggets, but they taste very different. They have softer/smoother taste and feel juicier inside.
You can already tell these snacks are high in protein because of the use of chicken. In fact, they even have more variety of protein, thanks to mushrooms which are high in protein as well. It’s a nice mix of plant-based and animal proteins which lifts the protein quality to even higher degree.
Making these chicken patties crispier
You can make these patties crispier by spraying some oil on them before placing them in the oven. Generally, the more oil you spray on them, the crispier they get. Remember, any extra oil you spray on them also adds some extra calories, so you may want to do that in moderation.
Let the chicken patties to be cooler to make them crispy, but not too cold.
Serving
Serve 3 to 4 pieces depending on their size. They taste great with ketchup / tomato sauce. They also go well with hot chilli sauce.
Storing
You can safely store these chicken patties in a lid tight container in a fridge and have them for a week. I prefer to heat them up before eating in a conventional oven or air fryer to get the crispiness back. Microwave oven won’t do that.

Crispy Chicken Patties
Ingredients
- 500 g chicken mince
- 150 g Onion
- 150 g Mushroom
- 150 g Breadcrumb
- 1 egg
Spices
- ½ tbsp turmeric powder
- ½ tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp cumin and coriander powder
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp salt
- ½ tsp chilli flakes
Instructions
- Firstly, gather all ingredients we need to make chicken patties.
- Make finely chopped onion and mushroom. Take a big bowl and put chopped onion, mushroom and breadcrumb.
- Combine gothter.
- Now add all spices into the bowl.
- Mix it well.
- Now it's time to add the chicken mince. Make sure drain any excess liquid to prevent the dish from becoming too watery.
- Whisk the egg in a small bowl.
- Pour whisked egg in the mixing bowl and give another mix.
- Make chicken patties as shown in the picture.
- Roll the patties on the breadcrumb in a small bowl, covering the both sides.
- Put them all on an oven tray. Spray some oil on both sides if you want to make them extra crispy.
- Grill them in the oven for 20 minutes on 180℃ or 355℃. Remember to turn them after 12 minutes or so.
- Serve them with some ketchup.
